Sometimes the hardest part of letting go of the past is to be brave enough to face the future. In every waking moment you have a choice to embrace the new, ever changing life evolving before you or with unknowing regret cling on to the memories of the past.
Being stuck in the past can create stagnant energy around you, which prevents you from easily creating a life you desire. It is when you loosen your grip and allow these memories to fade without fear or judgement that you can truly enter the next chapter of your life.
I would like to share with you 3 rituals, which will help you to break free from what’s holding you back in the past so that you can manifest something new and exciting into your life.
Do a cord cutting meditation
This type of meditation will help you release negative attachments to the people in your life. It’s particularly good for letting go of past lovers but can be used to clear negative emotions associated with anyone in your life. You can find plenty of cord cutting mediations on Youtube and I have recorded my own meditation (available below) which is for letting go of an ex lover.
Clear your clutter
Letting go of your unnecessary clutter at home creates a beautiful space for new, wonderful things to manifest into your life. For example, if you wanted to work from home and create your own business you would need to clear space in your house so that you would have somewhere nice to work. You wouldn’t want to be crammed in with heaps of clutter around you in your spare room.
On a metaphysical level, clutter stops energy flow in your living environment. Be brave and throw out all the things that no longer serve you. Give it away to friends who may need it, donate it to a charity or recycle it in the bin.
Clearing negative beliefs
If you have done the cord cutting meditation to release negative attachments to the people in your life and cleared the clutter from your home, now it’s time to do the inner work.
Ask yourself, what’s holding you back and keeping you from moving forward in your life? Fear very often comes from the past, so grab a pen and paper and write down your top 3 negative beliefs (fears) about a certain area in your life that you feel you need to work on.
This could be associated with love, money, career, health, etc. For example, negative beliefs about love could stem from a fear of being rejected or not feeling beautiful enough.
Read through your fears, one by one and ask yourself where the fear came from. Be patient with yourself, remembering the root cause of the fear could take a while. It could be connected to something that happened to you when you were young which has stayed with you all this time.
When you have identified where your fear has come from, ask yourself:
- What holding on to this thought does for you?
- Who would you be without this thought?
- Finally, what more positive thoughts could you replace the negative thought with?
Once you have completed these steps, you may need to follow through with regular journaling or some therapy such as reiki or kinesiology, as past emotions can build up in the auric field and muscle tissue in the body. Do what feels right for you and remember letting go of the past is a gentle process, which takes time.
